This one was a special visit. A little girl, just over a year old, over from overseas for the summer to spend time with her grandparents and they wanted to mark it with something a bit different.
The theme was classic storybook characters, and Paddington was the clear star of the show. Blue dungarees, red hat, a jar of marmalade, a vintage suitcase, the bear himself, and a London luggage tag. She took to the whole thing immediately. The marmalade sandwich got a lot of attention.
We also worked through the Hungry Caterpillar and Peter Rabbit across the session, a proper storybook lineup. Each one had its own little setup and she went along with all of it with great enthusiasm and that smile that pretty much doesn’t stop.
A grandchild visiting from overseas, a studio session, a summer of storybooks. That’s a pretty good combination.
