Neutral tones are by far the most common request I get at the moment, and this family were right on trend. Cream wrap, cream backdrop, soft white fur, calm and simple and exactly what they wanted.

a swaddled newborn smiles in his sleep with his favourite goose toy behind him

And then there was the goose.

They brought him along because the nursery is goose themed, and once I knew that, there was really only one place he was going. Tucked in next to a sleeping newborn, looking very pleased with himself, matching the whole palette almost perfectly as it turned out.

The baby, for his part, appears to agree with the styling decision. That little smile says everything.

I’m fairly confident this one is going straight on the nursery wall, right alongside the goose theme it was always going to fit into.

If you’ve got a toy, a keepsake, or something that ties into the nursery theme, bring it along. Nine times out of ten it ends up in the shot.

Newborn Photography in East Grinstead

The best time for your baby’s newborn session is between five and ten days old, when they’re at their sleepiest and curliest and those calm, natural images come easiest. I’d recommend booking while you’re still pregnant, so we can pencil in a provisional date and adjust once your baby arrives.

Your session takes place in my warm, cosy studio in Crawley Down, designed with your baby’s comfort in mind. Sessions are relaxed and unrushed, and include three digital images of your choice for £95. There’s no sales session, just a private online gallery where you can view and choose your favourites in your own time.
