Spring often sits between seasons – not quite winter, not yet summer – and that can work in its favour when you’re welcoming a new baby.
Days gradually become longer, which can gently support shifting routines without the intensity of summer daylight. There’s often a sense of things starting again, but without the pressure to be constantly out and busy.
Layers are still useful in spring, making it easier to manage feeding and keep babies comfortable as temperatures change. Getting out can feel manageable rather than expected, with fresh air available when it suits you, not because you “should”.
From a photography point of view, spring works very well in the studio. Sessions are calm and comfortable, with soft light and predictable conditions, allowing everything to move at a gentle pace.
Spring doesn’t need to feel energising or productive to be valuable. It can simply be a steady, transitional season that supports early family life as it settles into place.
Newborn Photography in East Grinstead
Newborn photo shoots are best when your baby is between 5 and 10 days old—this is when they’re at their sleepiest and curliest, perfect for capturing those beautifully serene images. To ensure you don’t miss out, I recommend booking while you’re still pregnant—we’ll set a provisional date for a week after your due date and adjust if needed once your baby arrives.
Your session takes place in my warm and cosy studio in Crawley Down, designed for your baby’s comfort. The shoot is relaxed, unrushed, and includes three digital images of your choice, all for £95. There’s no sales session—just a private online gallery where you can view and select your favourites at your own pace.
