This family first came to my studio over a decade ago, when their daughter was small enough to sit curled safely between them, her whole world contained in that moment. I’ve seen them quite regularly over the years but there as a gap after Covid as their lives got busy with a rapidly growing daughter. So here she is again – a confident teenager and it I won’t deny feeling very old when I saw her!
Looking back through older work like this is a reminder that family photography isn’t just about capturing a single stage. Over time, photographs build a record – not just of how people looked, but of who they were at that point.
