When the first snow falls and the forest hushes under its blanket of white, Niblet begins his favourite season. While others retreat to cosy nests, he sets about his winter rounds — sweeping snow from doorways, topping up feeders, and delivering treats to anyone in need.
A Keeper of Order
Niblet believes that a well-kept forest is a happy forest. He can’t resist tidying a path, straightening a pile of pinecones, or brushing snow from a neighbour’s doorstep. “Leaves in order, hearts in order,” he says, which Clarence insists isn’t scientifically proven but admits sounds very nice.
The Secret Pantry
Hidden in the hollow of an old oak, Niblet keeps what he calls his “emergency cheer” — a secret stash of berries, seeds, and crumbs saved from festive feasts. When storms roll in or supplies run low, he makes quiet deliveries through the drifts, leaving small bundles wrapped in leaves for whoever needs them most.
A Friend to All
Even Lingonberry, who rarely rushes for anything, trots a little faster when he sees Niblet coming with a snack. The forest birds adore him, the hedgehogs trust him, and even Clarence concedes that Niblet’s updates are far more efficient than his own.
Ever Busy, Ever Kind
If you wander through the Snow Forest and spot neat little pawprints circling a tree or a perfectly cleared patch beneath a branch, you’ll know Niblet’s been there. He doesn’t make a fuss — he just keeps the world turning smoothly, one pinecone at a time.
