Planning Your Baby’s Studio Session (5–11 Months)

Timeless milestone baby photography in Crawley Down

Looking for beautiful studio photography for your baby between 5 and 11 months old? These milestone sessions capture the sweetest stage — from gummy smiles to wobbly sits — in a calm, baby-led studio setting. Based in Crawley Down, I specialise in relaxed, natural portraits for babies and families across West Sussex and the surrounding areas.

What to Expect at This Age

Between 5 and 11 months, babies change fast — and I love capturing all the little moments along the way. Your baby might be confidently sitting up, completely mastering tummy time, rolling or standing supported on a solid piece of furniture. We work with whatever they’re up to — there’s no pressure to perform.

There’s time for cuddles, outfit changes, and comfort breaks, and I follow your baby’s lead throughout the session.

For Families Too

These sessions aren’t just for babies — I always include a mix of images with parents and siblings if you’d like. Family portraits at this age tend to feel natural and connected, especially as babies start to engage and show their personalities.

Planning Your Baby’s Studio Session (5–11 Months)

Welcome! If you’ve landed here from Pinterest, you’re in exactly the right place to start planning your baby’s milestone session.

Babies between 5 and 11 months are full of personality! Whether your little one is just learning to sit or confidently crawling, this stage is all about capturing those gummy smiles, curious hands, and cheeky expressions.

Session Style Options

There are a few ways we can style your session, depending on your baby’s stage and personality – we have time for three different sections so you can keep it all one style or mix and match – whatever takes your fancy!

  • Simple & Classic – Clean backdrops, soft colours, and baby-led posing.

  • Character & Dress-Up – Outfits from the studio wardrobe, like rompers, tutus, or even animal costumes.

  • Seasonal Themes – A subtle nod to the season with set design or prop accents.

  • Fine Art Portraits – A timeless feel, styled to let your baby’s personality shine through.

What to Bring

  • Nappies and all the usual baby stuff, snacks, and a favourite toy for comfort.

  • Any personal outfits you’d like included (you’re welcome to use studio pieces too).  I recommend up to three.

  • A plain vest or bodysuit is perfect for some of the simpler setups.

Your Session – Your Way

You can have as much control and input into how your session is styled as you’d like – some people enjoy the planning, others turn up and prefer to just go with the flow and keep it all very simple.  Either way, I’m here to support you in creating your images.  On the Pinterest Plan your Baby Session Board, you’ll be able to view and select your favourites from my range of

  • Backdrops
  • Props
  • Bunting
  • Teepee Set Ups
  • Outfits
  • Hats & Headbands
  • Themes & Accessories
  • and view a whole lot of general info, even some YouTube links if you like your content in video format.
