Lifestyle newborn photography is a more relaxed approach to newborn sessions. We work with my bed set and Moses basket to create images with a warm, at-home feel to them.

In this type of session, baby won’t ever be naked – though we might pop them in a nappy for swaddling, and we’ll work with wraps and swaddles a lot of the time. Outside of that, plain sleepsuits and vests are my go-to recommendation for clothing. They keep things simple and the images stay timeless.
There’s still the same level of professional lighting and posing as in a traditional newborn session, but there’s generally less intervention with baby. That makes lifestyle sessions a great option if your baby is a little outside the standard two-week newborn window and more likely to be wakeful or easily disturbed. Being snugly wrapped means baby is much more likely to stay settled and relaxed throughout — even with their eyes wide open.
