The newborn photo shoot window is incredibly short – the photos need to be taken in your baby’s first two weeks with you and preferably in the first ten days.
If you don’t book your session while you’re still pregnant, it’s pretty easy to miss the opportunity when you’re home from the hospital and in the middle of the newborn chaotic bubble. However, all’s not lost if you do – there’s lots of lovely photos that you can create, they just won’t be sleepy ones. This little lady is seven weeks old and cute as a button in the little outfit that her mum brought along with her. The nice thing about doing photos a little bit later is that you might be lucky enough to capture some of those early smiles.
If your baby is more than two weeks old, then I recommend waiting to visit the studio until they are at least six weeks old – the intervening period is a tricky time for little ones as they’re kind of caught between two stages and not so likely to settle outside of your arms. You’re always welcome to get in touch to talk through your options if you’ve already had your baby and want to capture them while they’re still tiny.
