This is Churro the Fluffy Corgi, just a few days into his new home, and I was completely smitten. Dog photography has moments like this and that is exactly why I love it.
He came in to mark the occasion of joining his family, which also happened to coincide with a big birthday for his owner, so it was a lot of lovely things rolled into one session. At just 12 weeks old he was remarkably chilled out. As long as a familiar face was nearby, he was happy to pose. His classic good looks called for a classic setting, so we used the red chaise with a pad and a blanket underneath, just in case, and the resulting image is one of my favourites.
People say it all the time about children and I’ll say it about dogs too. The puppy days go faster than you expect. However gorgeous they are all grown up, there is nothing quite like them at this age. Worth capturing.
And yes, I did check. He still had the puppy smell. I had to.
