Before you come to your newborn session, you’ll receive a form that lets you choose the props, digital backdrops and colour schemes you’d like to include.
It doesn’t work like a fixed menu – your baby will have their own ideas about what they feel like doing on the day – but it gives me the information I need to prepare for your session and a good idea of the style you’re going for. Having everything ready before you arrive means we’re not spending your baby’s nap time fetching things, and we can make the most of every settled moment.
Neutral whites and greys are a popular choice, and I understand why — the simplicity really does keep the focus on your baby. But I also have a soft spot for bolder combinations, and lilac with dark wood is one of my favourites. Something about the way those tones sit together just works for me.
I know a lot of photographers pride themselves on a signature style, but I’ve always been more of a chameleon. I want your images to reflect your taste, your personality, and your home – so I’ll work with you to make that happen. Keep it simple and plain? Great. Go big on props and colour? Also great.
