It was really nice to catch up with this family again after photographing their wedding a few years ago. They’d had another baby since then but missed out on newborn photography after an extended hospital stay, so it felt extra special to have them come in with their newest arrival.
The day before your session, I send over a link to a form where you can tell me about the colours and props you’d like and whether you’d like to include a digital backdrop. It’s not a fixed menu – everything is led by your baby on the day – but it gives me a really good idea of what you’re after and we work to get as much variety as we can. In this case, mum had chosen a neutral palette of creams and browns, which I was very happy to go with. The clean neutral look keeps all the focus on your baby, and the warm wood tones work particularly well with it.
It also gave me the perfect excuse to use my wooden LOVE letters for the first time. I think they photograph really well.
