April has been coming to visit for nearly a year as a member of my baby photography club.  She came to see me when she was about four months old, eight months old and then recently near her first birthday for a cake smash and tub splash first birthday photo shoot.

She’s been great fun every time she has been to visit, but I do think her last session was the most fun of all as we got to celebrate the end of her first year with her family with a cake smash and a tub splash photo shoot.  Her mum brought along a great cake, all pink with lots of smeary icing and it just fit onto my new cake stand so we made use of that too.  She wasn’t too sure of the cake at the beginning (that’s quite normal for a one year old) but after a little explanation and demonstration from her mum, she soon got the hang of having fun with it and even nibbling a bit along the way. Then it was time to clean up in the tub, with her super cute sticky out bunches!  Again, she wasn’t entirely sure to begin with but we distracted her with a couple of my bath toys and once she was comfortable, she was happy to splash and pose with plenty of smiles.

A first birthday photo shoot is a great way of celebrating the end of a massive year for your family – your first year with your newest member.  Of course, you don’t have to cake smash if you don’t fancy it – you can choose to just splash in the tub, or just enjoy a family and child photo shoot making use of some of my first birthday props if you’d like.  A first birthday photo shoot includes your five favourite digital images to download at print quality, with the option of purchasing more from your online gallery if you would like to (there’s no sales process to sit through).  The cost for this is £95 and it’s worth booking your session for a couple of weeks before the birthday if you’d like to have the photos for the big day itself.

A cake smash and tub splash photo shoot is the perfect way to celebrate and commemorate that extra special first birthday.   We start with a clean shoot and mum, dad and siblings are welcome to get involved here as well for family pictures if you’d like to.  Then it’s time to get out the cake for some smashing fun!  After that, it’s time to fill your choice of tub with warm and bubbly water for more great pictures and a good old icing removal clean up.  Each session includes your three favourite digital images (chosen from your online gallery, there’s no sales session) and costs £95.
