I’ve known these guys for a little while as they have been visiting the studio for family photos so I was delighted to be invited to photograph their wedding at the Royal Pavilion in Brighton.

That’s a venue that has more than a little special place in my heart as it was where my husband and I got married nearly 20 years ago.  This was going to the first time that I’ve been back inside it since so I was really looking forward to it.  It was also a wedding that had been postponed a couple of times so I know I wasn’t alone in being extra excited to have it actually going ahead.

The weather, I’m not going to lie, was atrocious.  Sheeting rains and howling winds all the day long… That might have been a problem at the Pavilion as they generally don’t allow large groups into the Music Room for photographs and so most photography has to take place outside.  However, they were absolutely amazing and allowed us all to go into that beautiful room to take our wedding group photos.  So we could stay warm and dry, and let’s face it, there’s not much more of a stunning backdrop to be had.

Then it was all aboard a vintage bus for a quick jaunt down to the i360 for a surprise for all of the guests – champagne on this iconic Brighton attraction.  Even a rainy day couldn’t spoil that fun!

Yeah it was wet and it was windy but heck, it was a wonderful day.  Great family, great photos and so much love in the room!
