These twins have been coming to visit me since they were just a few days old and don’t get me wrong, they’re both gorgeous but they couldn’t be more different!

As someone who’s completely fascinated by twins, I always love to work with them and Ellie and Jett are just wonderful fun.  Well, Jett  is not always my biggest fan if I’m being obvious but after a while he finds his groove and Ellie’s adventurous spirit always keeps us more than amused while we are waiting.

I think their last Joey Club shoot really sums them up to perfection.  They had a beautiful ombre blue cake that their super-clever mum made for them (although who knows when she found time with a big girl and twins to look after!) and Ellie was straight in there getting stuck in.  Jett was not impressed in the beginning but encouraged by his sister’s full force approach to enjoying herself was soon happy to taste and squish along with the best of them.

If I’m being totally honest, and I’m aware that this doesn’t cover me with glory, a couple of the photos were a little soft as I was laughing so hard when she just put her whole face into the cake.  She didn’t even just dip in for a quick taste either, she was dived in there for quite a while sucking the icing up!  Then when she popped up with her face covered in cake, it was just the most comical thing.  Luckily, me and her mum did get it together and we do have great photos of her in action as well.

That’s one of the most fun things about being a cake smash photographer – you never quite know what’s going to happen. It’s a voyage of discovery every time!  Some babies don’t like to get messy, some really don’t have any kind of problem with it (Ellie, ahem) and there are some tricks I use to manage them through the photo shoot wherever they fall on the scale.  Great images to celebrate a first birthday either way!

A cake smash and tub splash photo shoot is the perfect way to celebrate and commemorate that extra special first birthday.   We start with a clean shoot and mum and dad are welcome to get involved here as well for family pictures if you’d like to.  Then it’s time to get out the cake for some smashing fun!  After that, it’s time to fill your choice of tub with warm and bubbly water for more great pictures and a good old icing removal clean up.  Each session includes your five favourite digital images (chosen from your online gallery, there’s no sales session) and costs £95.
