The Tiny Truck backdrop is one of the most popular requests for my newborn photo shoots and it’s easy to see why with those warm, deep tones.
Plus it is a fact well acknowledged that the inclusion of a teddy bear makes everything 150% better!
Newborn photo shoots have become a common tradition for many parents, capturing those precious early moments of their child’s life. However, the traditional approach to newborn photography can be limiting, with the need for physical props and backdrops and places to store them. Honestly I have props stashed everywhere and am running a significant risk of not having room for people at the studio unless I stop purchasing!
So in the first Lockdown, I took a proper look at the idea of digital backdrops and they really can be a game-changer in the world of newborn photography. The offer almost limitless options for creativity and building fantasy elements into your photo shoot, as well as allowing me to ‘own’ more props that I have space for. The wider range of themes and styles that they offer is definitely something that I think of as a positive.
They also allow me to give you more variety in your finished image gallery as I don’t have to worry about creating set ups and moving your baby from prop to prop with all the settling time that this requires. Your baby can remain more comfortable and undisturbed without compromising on the images that we can create.
Of course, not everyone wants to include them in your photo shoot and I can definitely see an argument for a lot of the fun of the photo shoot being in watching your images being created in real life. However, I do think they can be a fun addition and you’ll always have the chance to include your favourite when you receive the options form before your session.

Newborn Photography in East Grinstead
A newborn photo shoot is best when your baby is between 5 and 10 days old as this is when they are at their maximum sleepiness and flexibility to capture those dreamy shots. For this reason, I definitely recommend that you book when you are pregnant as this is one less thing to worry about scheduling when you’ve just got home from the hospital. We make an appointment for your due date plus 7 days and then adjust it as needed.
My newborn shoots include your three favourite digital images which you select from your online gallery a few weeks after your photo shoot – I don’t make you attend a sales or viewing session. Sessions take place in my warm and cosy studio in Crawley Down and cost £95.
