I love a party as much as the next girl so it’s always a treat to have one in the studio and in this case, it was a thirteenth birthday party we were celebrating. The party was a little bit bigger than normal as the birthday girl just couldn’t choose between her five besties (I normally recommend a max of three or four) but they were all very close and didn’t mind cuddling up so it worked out brilliantly.
A great deal of the fun of a party shoot takes place beforehand as the girls get together to design the looks they want – they can have up to four changes. These girls went with casual (jeans and casual tops), onesies (always popular), skater skirts and finally dresses and they rocked all of them.
A birthday party shoot is booked for two hours and, as I said earlier, can include up to four outfit changes. We have a lot of fun from start to finish, no modelling experience is necessary as I guide the girls through a range of age appropriate poses and teach them some ‘tricks of the trade’. The emphasis is on looking great and having fun, and coming away from the experience full of confidence and giggles.
