This little one was in such a hurry to arrive that she came early, weighing just over four pounds. She looks tiny on the miniature bed, and she really was. But she was home and well in no time, and that made the session feel like a proper celebration.
Early babies are actually one of the few cases where the usual newborn photography timing works a little differently. Ideally I’d photograph a newborn between five and ten days old to get those deeply sleepy poses, but when a baby arrives ahead of schedule, the window shifts. We get a bit more time to work with, which is always welcome.
She was a dream to photograph. Peaceful, settled, and completely unbothered by the whole thing.
