Heidi came to visit, along with the rest of her family of course, and her mum and dad were keen to create some images of her on her own along with some pictures of her with her big sister as well.

She took a little while to settle into the studio vibe and her sister did an amazing job of being patient and waiting – that can be a tough ask for a little person so there’s always the option to go out with dad for a little while and do something far more interesting while we work on capturing those solo images.  However, not necessary in this case and when her time came to pose with the new addition, she was so sweet and gentle with her.

Her mum had already taken a look through my portfolio and sent me some images that she liked so I had a good idea of the type of style they were looking for – with natural earth tones and not too many hat / hairband accessories.  It’s not essential to do this as we can just see where the session leads us and I’ll obviously be there to talk through some options with you when you arrive.  However, if you do have a clear idea of what you would like, then it can be helpful to give me a flavour of the kind of photos you’d like to create.  Obviously we can’t ever recreate a photo exactly as everyone is different and your baby might well have ideas that contrast with mine about the kind of thing they’d like to do during their shoot but an idea of style and flavour can be really helpful.

So always feel free to get in touch with me to talk over your ideas before your shoot, even if you just want to check which props in my portfolio photos are mine and which clients have brought with them. I’m always happy to chat…  Serious. It drives my husband crazy.

Newborn Photography

A newborn photo shoot is best when your baby is between 5 and 10 days old as this is when they are at their maximum sleepiness and poseability to capture those dreamy shots.  For this reason, I definitely recommend that you book when you are pregnant as this is one less thing to worry about scheduling when you’ve just got home from the hospital.   We make an appointment for your due date plus 7 days and then adjust it as needed.

My newborn shoots include your three favourite digital images which you select from your online gallery a few weeks after your photo shoot – I don’t make you attend a sales or viewing session.  Sessions take place in my warm and cosy studio in Crawley Down and cost £95.
