Newborn Photography East Grinstead West Sussex

I have a lot of newborn props and it stands to reason that some are more popular than others.  It’s also the case that they dip in and out of fashion and favour as the years go by.

So I was delighted to fish this wooden tray prop out of storage when it was requested at a recent session.  It’s one of the first ones that I bought when I started doing newborn photos and I can’t actually remember the last time I used it.  It’s a really pretty one though, especially when pair with a little hit of colour as in the case of these little lilac flowers. Plus it’s a nice easy one to work with as there are a variety of positions you can put a newborn into it so if one doesn’t work you also have options.

I think sometimes it’s a bit hard to envision how a prop will work within your image gallery when you get the prop / options form before your session as you just see the prop without a baby in it or any dressing around it.  I’d definitely encourage a browse through my blog or social media while you’re making your decision so you can see them in use and how they might work for you.

Newborn Photography

A newborn photo shoot is best when your baby is between 5 and 10 days old as this is when they are at their maximum sleepiness and poseability to capture those dreamy shots.  For this reason, I definitely recommend that you book when you are pregnant as this is one less thing to worry about scheduling when you’ve just got home from the hospital.   We make an appointment for your due date plus 7 days and then adjust it as needed.

My newborn shoots include your three favourite digital images which you select from your online gallery a few weeks after your photo shoot – I don’t make you attend a sales or viewing session.  Sessions take place in my warm and cosy studio in Crawley Down and cost £95.
