Newborn photography is a challenging field, make no mistake about it. It’s taken years of study, training and practice for me to get it right and what I’ve learnt most of all is that you can have a huge bag of tricks of the trade, but patience is the key.
And learning to go with the flow and make the most of all the opportunities… Take the pictures above – from sweet dreamy smiles to the unposed one where she is a little less settled. Still there’s something about her father comforting her in that photo that I find really touching. Proof indeed that there are always opportunities even when newborn photography doesn’t quite go to plan. Still luckily, we did get her to settle for some sleepy shots as well – I’m pretty sure she is having sweet dreams.
