This was the last session I used the nest in its old form before I took it apart and rebuilt it. The dark tones and lilac accents still look lovely though, and the slightly oversized edges just meant more room for florals, which I’m not going to complain about.
The nest is one of the most versatile props in the studio in terms of how it can be styled. I love it with florals, and I have lots of colour options for those. But it also works beautifully with teddies, birth announcement props, and seasonal touches like autumnal leaves, pumpkins, and pine cones when the time of year calls for it. Against the white wood floor drop it takes on a lighter, almost floaty quality that’s quite different from the dark backdrop version. There really is no limit to how it can be dressed up to make your session feel completely yours.
