This is Mila and she’s having a lovely snooze here all wrapped up in my delicate lace scarf – the perfect complement for the delicacy of newborn baby girls.

Her mum and dad came to visit me after a recommendation by another client (always so grateful for that) and they didn’t actually know about my studio until after they’d had their baby.  That meant that Mila was a little bit older than the two week limit when she came to visit.  I always say that there are still lovely shots that you can get up to three weeks but you do need to be prepared that my ability to move and pose your baby while they’re sleeping may be more limited.  It’s amazing how quickly they get curious about the world around them and after the two week point, it gets much harder to move them around without them waking up to see what’s going on.

Still we got lucky with Mila after a little bit of work to settle her and ended up with a glorious collection of images of her looking just divine!  I’ll always try to fit you in if I possibly can if you’re working on short notice because newborn photography is a last minute decision for you so it’s always worth giving me a call or dropping me an email.  Otherwise, I recommend booking while you’re still pregnant to guarantee availability – we schedule your shoot for your due date plus seven days and then move it if we need to.

Newborn Photography

A newborn photo shoot is best when your baby is between 5 and 10 days old as this is when they are at their maximum sleepiness and poseability to capture those dreamy shots.  For this reason, I definitely recommend that you book when you are pregnant as this is one less thing to worry about scheduling when you’ve just got home from the hospital.   We make an appointment for your due date plus 7 days and then adjust it as needed.

My newborn shoots include your three favourite digital images which you select from your online gallery a few weeks after your photo shoot – I don’t make you attend a sales or viewing session.  Sessions take place in my warm and cosy studio in Crawley Down and cost £95.
