One of my greatest photography pleasures is capturing those very early days in my newborn baby photography sessions. It’s a bit of a cliche I guess (well no, it is a cliche for sure but only cos it’s true) but there is something really special about meeting very new people and I know from experience how much the photographs that I take will be treasured for years to come.
So while I well remember the madness that follows the birth of your baby, I’d always recommend finding a morning or afternoon in the first three weeks to visit me at the studio. My newborn sessions are relaxed and unhurried, you can relax in the studio while I take care of baby rocking and soothing in order to get them into that dreamy sleep that allows me to pose them.
Each session includes access to my ever growing stash of props, blankets and accessories (although I will always welcome items brought from home to personalise your session), all the studio time, hand finished images of the highest quality presented to you in your own private online gallery. That part is important as the last thing you need as new parents is a whole lot of pressure in a viewing session – this way you can enjoy your images from the comfort of your own home in your PJ’s if you fancy. Then you can choose your five favourite images to download at print quality – print them, share them, love them, they’re all yours.
Additional images are available to purchase in digital or print format, as well as being available as canvas wraps if you’d like them. There’s no minimum spend, just buy what you love securely online from your image gallery.
The session fee is £95 and also includes your membership to the Joey Club which normally costs £39.95 – my baby photography scheme for your first year with your baby – capturing all those little cherub moments. You can find out all the details by clicking here but basically, you receive three sessions (one at four, eight and twelve months) and at the end, a triple aperture wall frame. As with all of my work, no pressure, no sales process that other studios seem to employ – all your images are viewed and purchased online.
I’d recommend booking a session as soon as you know that you want one, any time after you find out your due date as I have to limit the amount of sessions I take on because of the time investment they take. Obviously your baby probably isn’t aware of your schedule but we simply book your session for your due date plus seven days and then adjust as necessary when they make their appearance.
