A little newborn boy asleep in a wooden bowl surrounded by flowers and lying on a blue blanket

Baby Samuel was a peaceful little visitor to the studio – he slept most of the time, just waking up for a little bit to get his tummy nice and full and then he was back off into the Land of Nod and happy for me to gently move and pose him to get a great set of newborn photographs for his mum and dad to treasure.

Most of the photos we took were of him on my giant beanbag – I have a range of blankets and backdrops that can completely transform the look of the images, and his mum and dad had brought along some items to include in his photos (his first teddy bear being one of them).  However, his mum had sent me some pictures in advance that she really liked including one in my giant bowl so I had this all set up and ready to go before she arrived.  It was nice to use my brand new denim blue knit set for the first time – I recently made a whole new set of knits in muted shades to expand my prop range – and added in matching hats because I can’t resist a set!  I also have a range of backdrops (well technically this is a floordrop) that we can use to create a number of different looks – Samuel’s mum and dad were keen for everything to be light and natural so this faux wood floor was perfect for the job.  Light and airy but still showed off the bowl and flowers – not to mention the super cute bowl occupant!

Newborn Photography in East Grinstead

Newborn photo shoots are best when your baby is between 5 and 10 days old—this is when they’re at their sleepiest and curliest, perfect for capturing those beautifully serene images. To ensure you don’t miss out, I recommend booking while you’re still pregnant—we’ll set a provisional date for a week after your due date and adjust if needed once your baby arrives.

Your session takes place in my warm and cosy studio in Crawley Down, designed for your baby’s comfort. The shoot is relaxed, unrushed, and includes three digital images of your choice, all for £95. There’s no sales session—just a private online gallery where you can view and select your favourites at your own pace.
