This is baby Ellie and she came to visit with her mum for her first official photos at about one week old.  She was just a dream to work with – so calm and settled.

That’s not true of all babies of course although we do get there in the end with combinations of feeding, cuddling, rocking, stroking and general soothing.  Ellie however was content to doze and let me gently move and pose her so we had plenty to time to create her images.  Including one that we recreated which  we had done for her big brother with her birth announcement details.  As well as just being a lovely shot to have, her grandparents have her brother’s as a canvas on their wall and wanted to have a matching one to celebrate the newest arrival.  When you’ve been to visit for a newborn session before, or just had one somewhere else, I’m always happy to create matching images where I can – they can look great displayed as a pair on your wall.

Newborn Photography

A newborn photo shoot is best when your baby is between 5 and 10 days old as this is when they are at their maximum sleepiness and poseability to capture those dreamy shots.  For this reason, I definitely recommend that you book when you are pregnant as this is one less thing to worry about scheduling when you’ve just got home from the hospital.   We make an appointment for your due date plus 7 days and then adjust it as needed.

My newborn shoots include your three favourite digital images which you select from your online gallery a few weeks after your photo shoot – I don’t make you attend a sales or viewing session.  Sessions take place in my warm and cosy studio in Crawley Down and cost £95.
