Cayden was just a little dream to have in the studio.  At just a few days old, he was still curled up and sleepy and happy to let me gently move him through a series of poses and sets – including a gorgeous little festive bed set up.

Newborn photos are best taken when your baby is between five and ten days old as this is the age when your little one is still really sleepy. It always amazes me how fast they begin to engage with the world around them and while they may get to sleep fine after this age, I actually won’t be able to move them around without them waking up to see what’s going on in this brand new world of theirs.

For this reason, I recommend that you book while you’re still pregnant as this is just one thing less that you have to worry about when you get back from the hospital.  I also have to limit the amount of sessions that I take on as they are quite long so it’s a big advantage to me to know roughly who is coming to visit during the month (though obviously babies do have a habit of ignoring the schedule of when to arrive!).

How it works is we make your booking for your due date plus seven days and you simply add me to the list of people that you will let know when the baby arrives and we can adjust the appointment as necessary. If I haven’t heard from you the week before your appointment, I’ll get in touch anyway and see if we need to shift things around a little bit.

The newborn photography for those tucked up, dreamy shots is brutally short – after a certain point, they just aren’t possible to get.  I’d hate for you to miss out so get in touch when you have your due date to book in your photo shoot and capture those precious early days.
