January is good for getting things done. The to-do list is long and the motivation is high, at least for a while.
One item that had been sitting on the list for quite some time was remaking my newborn nest. It was the first newborn prop I ever made, which means it was getting on for ten years old, and it was starting to show every one of them. The edges were getting ragged and, if I’m honest, it was always a little on the large side anyway. So I brought it home, took it apart, and rebuilt it. A lot of twigs on the floor later and the job was done. Smaller, neater, and back on the prop shelf where it belongs.
The feathers were the other thing that had been on the list for ages. It’s a nest. It needed feathers. I’m pleased to report that two items got ticked off in one go, which is the best kind of January achievement. Can’t wait to try it out with a baby in it.
