This couple decided to bring a little joy into 2020 and tie the knot in a small and intimate wedding ceremony and I was delighted to be asked along as their socially distanced photographer to capture some memories for them.

It was a small registry office ceremony where unfortunately the wedding photographer was counted as one of the number of the 15 permitted attendees so I was unable to visit with them there so I caught up with them at East Sussex National Golf Club in Uckfield for their reception.  The weather was wet and windy but that did nothing to dampen the spirits of the wedding party who were happy to have something to celebrate – masks on or otherwise.

Group photography was probably the most challenging part as masks were mandatory inside the venue and the weather wasn’t conducive to much outdoor action but luckily the venue has a covered balcony that we were able to make use of where the guests could remove their masks.  Groups outside of the couple’s support bubble were posed as individual families separated by the required 2m distance making use of placing them away and behind the couple to get the shot without it looking like they all couldn’t stand to be together!

It was a fun challenge and the memories created were still packed full of love for the newly weds – for obvious reasons I hope not to do too many more of them though!
