This couple were keen to create some maternity photography memories as they waited together for their first child to arrive.
Maternity photography can seem like something a little scary in the minds of lots of expectant mums as it’s quite a common misconception that you have to strip in order to get your photos. Of course, you’re welcome to and some of the underwear and implied nude shots can be very lovely – I light and pose to be the most flattering to your new shape. However, all the flattering lighting in the world doesn’t matter if you’re really not comfortable doing it and so this post should go a little way to proving the point that you can still get gorgeous bump pictures without having to take off any of your clothes.
It’s a flexible session that we just create as we go to suit exactly how you’re feeling on the day and the type of images that you want, so you don’t have to pick a style and stick to it. That said, I always recommend wearing matching undies if you’re thinking about doing underwear shots and then you can just decide on the day – my studio is a warm and relaxed space so you might be surprised how brave you feel! Either way, there’s no pressure – I don’t start a session with a series of pre-planned moves and poses – you’re in charge and we just work together to capture images of your pregnancy just as you would like to.
Maternity Photography
I recommend coming for your maternity shoot when you are between 32 – 36 weeks pregnant so you have plenty of bump to show but you’re not getting too uncomfortable (also in case your baby decides to make an early appearance). My maternity shoots cost £95 and include your three favourite digital images (you’re also welcome to borrow any of my gorgeous maternity photo shoot dresses while you’re in the studio). You select your pictures and order any more that you would like directly from your online gallery, there’s no sales or viewing session to attend.
