When it comes to maternity photography, I have some amazing maternity dresses in the studio that you’re welcome to borrow.

This is one of my favourites although I will admit to not really planning ahead when I bought it as I just fell in love with the flying tails that it has.  However, I failed to think about the fact that you do need an extra person in the studio with you to actually make it work so if you want this shot, then you need to have a friend with you!

The final shot is the result of a little digital magic compositing.  The good news is that the mum to be has the easiest job of all as she just get to stand still, look beautiful and we create the action all around her.  For the friend, they are in charge of the very technical field of ‘wafting’ although full training is given.

When we’ve suitable wafted both sides of the dress, it’s time to move on to whatever comes next in the photo shoot and I take care of the rest of it in my editing suite back in the office.  I just love the finished result – a beautiful maternity photograph with more than a hint of drama that would look wonderful on your wall.
