Recently I hit on the idea of making a big number one (it’s about two foot tall) as a first birthday photo shoot prop. With matching bunting of course. Any excuse to make more pretty things for the studio.
Anyway, I already had some blue fleece so the boys were the first to get the prop – I actually used it at the weekend and it looks fantastic in the photos. OK, I did think I was terribly clever weighting it at the bottom to give it more stability but it turns out that a one year can still push it over without breaking into a sweat but once you get them distracted, it looks really cool. So I ordered some pink fleece to even things up and now, after a little sewing room fun on Sunday, there’s a pretty pink version too!
