Family Portrait Photo Shoot East Grinstead West Sussex

What to wear to a portrait photo shoot is one of the questions that I’m often asked and I think that this photo is a great example of what works when it comes to styling.

There’s no need for all the kids to match outfit, although that can be cute depending on the children’s ages and preferences but choosing a shade or tone and dressing everyone in variations of it works really well. It really ties the finished image together and focuses the attention on those adorable faces rather than distracting the eye with lots of colours and styles.

Obviously other colours than blue are available!

The goal is to create timeless images that you can enjoy on your wall for years to come, so I’d definitely steer clear of logo items even if they are absolutely your child’s favourite character (although there’s time for a changes so you can always include them for a few pictures if you want to).  Similarly, strong patterns can be distracting so it’s best to stick to plain designs that will stand the test of time.  As I said earlier, there’s time for a change so you can always bring along a couple of looks – formal and casual for example – and mix it up it your photo shoot.     If you’re not sure about which choices to make, then bring along options and we can always work it out on the day!

Family Photography

A family photo shoot in my warm and welcoming studio in Crawley Down is suitable for groups of up to two adults and three children (please call me to discuss before booking if your group is larger than this).  The session fee includes three digital images and costs £95.   As with all of my photography, there’s no sales or viewing meeting to attend – you simply view and order what you would like from your private online gallery. Here’s a link to my digital and print pricing.
