Jasmine came to visit for her newborn session when she was just a few days old and it was a special treat to meet her as I have known the family since her big sister was, well, little.  But sadly, not long after that, she got a bit poorly and so I didn’t see her again for her first Joey Club session until she was quite a bit older than the normal four months.  Still, she is all better now as I think you can see – full of fun at her cake smash birthday photo session.

In fact, I think the photography got in the way of a prolonged cake eating session!  She was showcasing her new standing skills and her very infectious little giggle.  Her mum brought along a very pretty pink tutu for her to have her photos in and so we went with a suitably pink and girly background to match with it, along with my distressed wood white floor.   It looks rough and spiky but in reality, it’s a super smooth vinyl so perfectly comfortable to sit on.

These interchangeable backdrops and floors are new to the studio for me this year and I just love the variety that it lets me offer to my clients – perfect teamed with bunting for special occasions.  I have a couple of choices but you’re always welcome to bring your own – it needs to be 5 feet long to allow me to pin it up, I think that’s a little under two metres.

Cake Smash & Tub Splash Photo Shoots

A cake smash and tub splash photo shoot is the perfect way to celebrate and commemorate that extra special first birthday.   We start with a clean shoot and mum, dad and siblings are welcome to get involved here as well for family pictures if you’d like to.  Then it’s time to get out the cake for some smashing fun!  After that, it’s time to fill your choice of tub with warm and bubbly water for more great pictures and a good old icing removal clean up.  Each session includes your three favourite digital images (chosen from your online gallery, there’s no sales session) and costs £95.

Cake smash and tub splash sessions are also included in my baby photography club – the Joey Club so if you have a little one (under four months) take a look at that to find out more about capturing your first year together.
