Lockdown has given me time to daydream about all the props that I’d love to have in the studio and also the time to turn some of those daydreams into reality.
I’ve wanted a new wooden children’s chair for a while but the new ones that I’ve seen were surprisingly expensive and not that good quality. Some of my props can take a bit of a beating so I need them to be safe and sturdy. Plus I really like to have unique things in my studio as it makes them a little more special as far as I’m concerned.
So I’ve had a search on eBay (other online auction sites are available) and when this little gem popped up locally, I had to grab it. It had been well loved but it was really solid and I loved the shape of it. I figured it would just need a little TLC to bring it back to life and so that’s what I did. I love the idea that something that someone was going to get rid of has a new lease of life rather than just becoming firewood or landfill and I reckon little visitors to my studio are going to love it!
