This was a brilliant fun photo shoot to celebrate a birthday for a couple of best friends. They’ve been buddies since they were just a few months old and they wanted to capture some images to reflect this in the studio.

They brought along some different outfits to play with – smart dresses, PJs, and I was excited to meet my first ever mermaids in the studio!  It did puzzle me a bit at first on how to capture them but I found the answer lay in getting up a ladder and so I did.  We really did have a giggle putting together some images of the girls together and separately and we even got out the wind machine for a little ‘Hollywood Glamour’ at the end of the session.

I recognise that it’s a tough time to be a young lady and so my emphasis is always on keeping it age appropriate, having fun and building confidence in front of the camera.  The finished set of images from this session just make me smile every time I look at them with the bond between these two girls being so strong and clear.  Plus, you know, mermaids…
