Albie has been coming to visit me at the studio all year, first for his newborn photo shoot and then for his baby photography club sessions.
He’s been wall to wall smiles at all of his photo shoots and I just love to see how he has grown and changed over the course of the year. From a tiny little newborn through to a confident one year – he’s grown so much. His smile has stayed the same though!
One of the absolute joys of baby photography is watching little personalities bloom over time. In those first few weeks, babies are sleepy and content, curling up just as they did in the womb. But as the months go by, something wonderful happens—their expressions start to change, and those heart-melting smiles begin to shine.
In my Baby Photography Club, I capture those beautiful changes over a year, with sessions at around 4, 8, and 12 months. From first wide-eyed wonder to cheeky grins and giggles, these milestone sessions create a beautiful record of their first year.
Why Smiles Take Time to Emerge
Did you know that babies are actually born with the ability to smile? In the early days, newborn smiles are mostly reflexive—tiny hints of joy that melt your heart, but they’re not yet intentional. Around 6-8 weeks, you’ll start to see that first real, social smile—a true moment of connection when your baby recognises you and beams right back! By the time they reach four months, those smiles are often accompanied by little giggles, and from there, their expressions just get bigger, bolder, and more full of personality.
Capturing Every Stage in the Studio
Every session in the Baby Photography Club is designed to capture a new stage of their growth and development. In the early months, it’s all about soft, snuggly portraits, but by their first birthday, you’ll see a completely different baby—standing, clapping, laughing, and maybe even showing off a few little teeth!
I always encourage parents to bring along a favourite toy or comforter to help babies feel at ease, and sometimes, those cherished items make it into the final images too, creating even more meaningful memories.
What is the Baby Photography Club?
The Baby Club is a simple, no-cost way to capture your baby’s incredible first-year journey through three beautifully timed studio sessions. From tiny toes at four months, to sitting tall at eight, and birthday cake-smashing at twelve — it’s all about documenting your baby’s milestones while keeping the experience relaxed and fun. There’s no upfront fee to join and you can choose a free digital image from each session or a framed keepsake at the end of the year. It’s an easy, pressure-free way to build your baby’s story in photos — one milestone at a time.

You can book a stand alone baby photo shoot for £95 including three digital images or you can take a look at my Baby Photography Club which includes
- Sessions at 4, 8 and 12 months
- The last session as a cake smash / tub splash if you’d like it (no extra charge)
- Your favourite image from each session in a wall frame at the end of the year OR a free digital image from each session
- Online private image gallery after each session (no sales / viewing appointments)
