Baby Harry came to visit when he was about a week old as a bit of a last minute plan. He’d been born and his mum was chatting with a friend of hers about newborn photography who’d also been to visit me and thought that she would like to have some photos of her little boy as well. So she gave me a call and I managed to squeeze her in the calendar – so glad I did, he’s gorgeous!

Generally I recommend booking while you’re still pregnant so you can guarantee your session. Obviously we don’t usually know exactly when your baby will arrive so we simply book your photo shoot for your due date plus seven days and then simply adjust it if they are early or late but that way I can keep the appropriate numbers of windows in my calendar.  Newborn photography needs to take place while your baby is still very sleepy so between 5 and 10 days old and definitely within the first two weeks.  I’ll always do my best to get you into the studio if you’ve left it late so it’s always worth giving me a call if you’ve already had your baby.

Newborn Photography

A newborn photo shoot is best when your baby is between 5 and 10 days old as this is when they are at their maximum sleepiness and poseability to capture those dreamy shots.  For this reason, I definitely recommend that you book when you are pregnant as this is one less thing to worry about scheduling when you’ve just got home from the hospital.   We make an appointment for your due date plus 7 days and then adjust it as needed.

My newborn shoots include your three favourite digital images which you select from your online gallery a few weeks after your photo shoot – I don’t make you attend a sales or viewing session.  Sessions take place in my warm and cosy studio in Crawley Down and cost £95.
