Baby Freddie visited the studio at the beginning of the year for his newborn photos and he was such a gorgeous little fellow to work with. Also, those lips! I mean how stunning are they?
I would say that he was a typical newborn in that he slept for about half his session, ate for some of it and then just had a jolly fine time looking around at everything for the rest of it but then that is why my newborn sessions are an unhurried two hours long and I never take back to back sessions so we don’t have any time pressure to worry about. When he was asleep, he was a dream to pose and we had fun with different backdrops, some of my props (Love my new LOVE letters!) and the items that his mum and dad brought along with them to make their session really personal to them.
I feel that Freddie will have good friends in his dinosaur buddies – I mean who wouldn’t sleep peacefully when guarded by such fierce (ahem) creatures? First toys make great newborn photo props, as do first blankets or hats. If you have themed your nursery then bringing along something that incorporates this theme can mean that you have instant wall art for the room, such as larger prints or canvases.

Newborn Photography
A newborn photo shoot is best when your baby is between 5 and 10 days old as this is when they are at their maximum sleepiness and poseability to capture those dreamy shots. For this reason, I definitely recommend that you book when you are pregnant as this is one less thing to worry about scheduling when you’ve just got home from the hospital. We make an appointment for your due date plus 7 days and then adjust it as needed.
My newborn shoots include your three favourite digital images which you select from your online gallery a few weeks after your photo shoot – I don’t make you attend a sales or viewing session. Sessions take place in my warm and cosy studio in Crawley Down and cost £95.
